1. Fort Lauderdale, FL

In the Instagram rankings, Fort Lauderdale claimed the #1 spot for cities with the highest percentage of drugs and alcohol in photos. In this sunny city the weather is nice and predictable, meaning plenty of time for lounging at the beach. If you're heading to Fort Lauderdale, you'll want to stick to "The Strip" and neighboring beaches like Hollywood, Pompano, and Deerfield.

2. Harlingen, TX

Harlingen also earned a whopping percentage of spring break Instagram posts. From country western bars to Tejano saloons, there's something to suit all tastes in South Texas. Spend your days surfing and your nights at one of the city's popular nightclubs.

3. Miami Beach, FL

Miami Beach had the top spot for the sheer number of Instagram posts that mentioned #SpringBreak. With its beachfront hotels and outdoor cafes, Miami Beach has become one of the top places to hangout when school lets out. 4. Panama City Beach, FL

5. Las Vegas, NV

It's no surprise that Las Vegas had the biggest mention of alcohol in Instagram posts. Las Vegas is an adult playground rich in top-tier hotels, restaurants, and clubs. Vegas also host some of the best pool parties in the world, making it a must-visit spring break spot.

6. San Diego, CA

San Diego is another major spring break contender. The city has the best weather in the U.S. and the perfect waters for surfing, fishing, and kayaking. During your visit, be sure to check out the Gaslamp Quarter which features endless blocks of bars, restaurants, and nightclubs.
