Avoiding Cops With Weed
By: Ganja Wise
Tons of college students smoke weed. This article has advice on how to smoke weed responsibly. A lot of people have been getting nabbed by the boys in blue lately for stupid reasons. Here are the rules you should follow to make sure you don't share the same fate. If you live in California you don't have as much to worry about but here are our tips for everyone else.
Only bring it if you gonna smoke it
It is very stupid to walk around with weed that you’re not going to smoke. If you do get caught with it on you then that is more that they can charge you with. If you’re going to meet a friend, or smoke at a later time, just bring the weed you’re going to smoke and leave the rest at home.
Cover up the smell
Good weed has a potent smell. Especially to those who don’t often smell it. If you have some on you make sure it is securely tucked away. If you have just smoked some make sure that’s not obvious. Sounds simple, right. Well this could be what gets people in trouble the most. “Umm Sir... is there a reason why your vehicle smells like marijuana. Would you consent to a search of the vehicle?” If you say no, they bring the canines and you’re screwed regardless. Buy some spray and eye drops can help too.
Get it from a reliable source
This one is very important. Some people think they can sit on the side of the road and sell weed to people during red lights. Marijuana is still illegal. Don’t do deals out in the open and don’t take too long to do deals in vacant areas. That looks sketchy. If your dealer doesn't know this you might want to find a different one because you don’t want to be around when that dealer gets nabbed.
Smoke on private property
Private property will always be the safest place to be. The police can’t random search the entire place. Unlike a car, the cops need more than a dog to gain the right to search. Sure it might not be the best place to enjoy a hit but at least you know what’s around every corner. You're fairly safe at home.
Know the laws in your area
With marijuana being a hot topic in meetings of law makers, some cities and states have recently changed their marijuana laws. It is very important that you are aware of the tolerance level of your current location. The smartest way to know how to act is to know your rights. NORML can help you out there.
